Terms and Conditions for Tech·Ed NZ 2011
Early Bird Discounted Registrations
Both Corporates and Individuals may qualify for the Tech·Ed 2011 Early Bird pricing discount which is available for a strictly limited number of tickets until 30 June 2011, unless sold out earlier. Standard registration will apply once the limited number of Early Bird tickets has been sold, or after 30 June 2011, whichever is the sooner.
If you successfully register for Early Bird pricing, you must have fully paid for your registration by 30 June 2011. If payment is not received by this date, then the full registration rate will be automatically charged for both Corporate and Individual registrations.
- Companies wishing to register staff for Tech·Ed 2011 must not exceed the allocated number of delegates indicated in the Early Bird Corporate package pricing structure.
- An individual wishing to attend under a Tech·Ed 2011 Early Bird Corporate Package must be a current employee of his or her organisation.
- All individuals registered under a Tech·Ed 2011 Corporate package must be verified by the organisation's key contact.
- Individuals registered within each Corporate package must be employed by the same organisation.
- All registrations and payment for the Tech·Ed 2011 Early Bird Corporate packages must be received and paid to Avenues Event Management, PO Box 10-612, Wellington by 30 June 2011.
- Attendees are eligible to attend all sessions, and will gain entry to the exhibition and all conference social functions where a separate invitation is not required. All attendees must wear their Tech·Ed 2011 name badge to gain entry.
- If an individual registers for one of the Individual packages, they are no longer eligible for an Early Bird Corporate Package. (Individual packages include those under the Early Bird Individual registration, Standard Individual registration, discounted and special pricing eligibility registrations).
- A maximum of one discount will apply for each attendee.
- Academic discounted registrations do not qualify for Early Bird discount registrations.
Standard Corporate Registrations
Standard Corporate registration pricing will apply to organisations registering for Tech·Ed 2011 once the limited number of Early Bird tickets has been sold or after 30 June 2011, whichever is the sooner. This is a special Corporate rate for organisations attending Tech·Ed 2011.
This Standard Corporate Registration discount is available until and inclusive of Tuesday 23 August 2011. Please refer to the pricing table (under “Standard Pricing”) posted on www.microsoft.co.nz/teched to view the Standard Corporate discounts available for Corporate Registrations.
Standard Corporate registrations must be completed and paid for by Tuesday 23 August 2011, inclusive, to receive the Standard Corporate discounted registration rate. We cannot guarantee your registration if payment has not been received in full before this date.

To qualify for the Standard Individual registration rate:
- Standard Individual registrations must be completed and paid for by Tuesday 23 August 2011, inclusive. We cannot guarantee your registration if payment has not been received in full before this date.
- All registrations and payment for the Tech·Ed 2011 Standard Individual registration must be received and paid to Avenues Event Management, PO Box 10-612, Wellington by Tuesday 23 August 2011.
- Delegates are eligible to attend all sessions, and will gain entry to the exhibition and all conference social functions where a separate invitation is not required. All attendees must wear their Tech·Ed 2011 name badge to gain entry.
Discounted Registrations
Discounted registration pricing is available to Full Time Academics (students and educators), Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs), full time employees of Not For Profit organisations and Microsoft affiliated User Group Leaders.
To qualify for a discounted registration you must contact Avenues Event Management at teched@avenues.co.nz, and bring your ID card to the conference for verification. If you are eligible you will receive approx 56% off the full individual registration rate under the discounted registration type.
Discounted delegates are eligible to attend all sessions, and will gain entry to the exhibition and all conference social functions where a separate invitation is not required. All attendees must wear their Tech·Ed 2011 name badge to gain entry.
All registrations and payment for the Tech·Ed 2011 Discounted registrations must be received and paid to Avenues Event Management, PO Box 10-612, Wellington by Tuesday 23 August 2011. This offer may not be used in conjunction with any other offers or discounts. A maximum of one discount will apply for each eligible attendee.
Conditions applicable to all attendees
- To attend Tech·Ed 2011, you must register and pay in advance by Tuesday 23 August (or 30 June 2011 for Early Bird registration) unless stated otherwise. Photo identification will be required at the event.
- All conference fees are exclusive of GST (which is payable in addition to the fee), do not include travel and accommodation, and are payable by credit card or cheque to Avenues Event Management Ltd, PO Box 10-612, Wellington.
- If you decide to cancel, please email teched@avenues.co.nz. If we receive your cancellation by 5.00pm on 31 July 2011, we will give you a refund of your conference fee less a $NZ100 administration fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after 5.00pm on 31 July 2011.
- Registration is valid for the named attendees only. Before the conference starts on 24 August 2011, you can transfer registrations within your organisation or agency so long as you provide written confirmation of the full names and contact details of the new attendees to teched@avenues.co.nz on or before 23 August 2011.
- The new attendees qualify for the same percentage discount (if applicable) as the attendees they replace. Other than as provided for above, an attendee's registration is not transferable.
- When you submit registrations on behalf of other people (including any new attendees within an organisation), you confirm that they have seen and agreed to these Conditions.
- Any software provided to you at Tech·Ed 2011 is licensed to you (not sold) and may not be sold or otherwise transferred by you, and is subject to the standard license terms applicable to the relevant software.
- Microsoft reserves the right to change the sessions and events included in Tech·Ed 2011.
- You must conduct yourself in a manner that does not restrict or interfere with the enjoyment of Tech·Ed 2011 by others.
- You must comply with all reasonable directions of Microsoft staff and contractors at Tech·Ed 2011, including (but not limited to) where directions relate to the health and safety of anyone attending or taking part in Tech·Ed 2011.
- Upon entry to Tech·Ed 2011, you consent to the reasonable inspection of your person and property by Microsoft or Microsoft’s security contractor (“Security”), to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions and for any other reasonable purpose relating to security.
- Microsoft reserves the right to refuse you entry to, or to remove you from, Tech·Ed 2011 for failure to comply with these terms and conditions, the venue’s terms of admission, or for any conduct which Microsoft or Security considers in its absolute discretion to be unsatisfactory.
- You acknowledge that Tech·Ed 2011 and attendees at Tech·Ed 2011 may be filmed and still photographs may be taken at any time during Tech·Ed 2011 and in all public areas of the Tech·Ed 2011 venue. You agree that you may be filmed or photographed as part of Tech·Ed 2011 and that Microsoft may use any footage or photographs, including but not limited to, footage or photographs of your image, for marketing and publicity purposes at any time without consultation or payment to you.
- At Microsoft we are committed to protecting your privacy. Microsoft will retain and use the information you provide in your registration for the purposes of the Tech·Ed 2011 event (which may include disclosure to third parties for the purpose of processing and conducting the registration and event and for promotional purposes). If you would like to request access or request correction of your personal information, or unsubscribe from optional communications, please email UpToDate@microsoft.com or write to The Privacy Officer, Microsoft New Zealand Limited, PO Box 8070 Symonds Street, Auckland.
- To the extent permitted by law, Microsoft, its retailers, suppliers, associated companies, agencies and contractors and each of their officers, employees and agents, will not be liable to you for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever, including personal injury, which is suffered as a result of, or arising from, your attendance or participation in Tech·Ed 2011 or otherwise in connection with Tech·Ed 2011.
- Delegates acknowledge that exhibitors at Tech·Ed 2011 may, with the delegate's permission, scan the delegate's Tech·Ed 2011 name badge to obtain the delegate's registration details and that the exhibitor may use the information obtained by scanning the delegate's Tech·Ed 2011 name badge to contact the delegate for promotional purposes (including, without limitation, informing the delegate of new products, services, offers, developments and events) after Tech·Ed 2011.
Tweet-A-Nugget Game Terms and Conditions
Each qualifying original Tweet counts as one entry into the prize draw (delegates may make multiple Tweets)
- To be a qualifying Tweet, the Tweet must:
- Be on a subject related to a Tech·Ed New Zealand 2011 breakout session, to be determined by Microsoft New Zealand;
- Include the hash tags #tenz and #nugget; and
- Be Tweeted between 9.00am Wednesday 24 August 2011 and 5.00pm Friday 26 August 2011.
- Prizes and prize draw details will be advised by Microsoft during Tech·Ed New Zealand 2011.
- Prizes are not transferable or deemable for cash. If you are unable or unwilling to accept your prize, Microsoft may award it to an alternate winner.
- If you accept a prize you will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize.
- Microsoft will not be responsible for Tweets not received or incomplete.
- "Hacked" or otherwise fraudulent Tweets are not valid.
- The winning entries will be drawn at random on or before 09 September 2011.
- Winners will be notified by direct Tweet from 'techedlive' (Microsoft).
- Prizes to be delivered to each winner at a New Zealand address (as advised by the winner) at Microsoft's expense.
- A maximum of one prize for each winning individual.
- Only registered Tech·Ed New Zealand 2011 delegates are eligible to win, excluding Microsoft employees.
- By entering this prize draw you agree to be bound by these terms & conditions.
- Microsoft is the promoter of this prize draw and may modify these terms & conditions without notice. The judge’s decision in relation to the winners or any other aspect of this prize draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- If for any reason an advertised prize is unavailable, Microsoft may substitute the advertised prized for another prize which has approximately the same recommended retail price.
- Microsoft is committed to complying with the Government gift and ethics policies. Employees and independent contracts of the Government must adhere to gift and ehtics policies applicable to them when entering this prize draw or accepting any prize.
- To the extent permitted by law, Microsoft, its retailers, suppliers, associated companies and agencies will not be liable to you for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever, including personal injury, which is suffered as a result of, or arising from, your participation in the prize draw or winning (or not winning) any prize.
Tech·Ed Online Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
- To enter the draw, you must fill out the form available at this link before 11.59pm 31st October 2011. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
- Microsoft is not responsible for entries not received and incomplete, illegible, ‘hacked’ or otherwise fraudulent entries are not valid.
- By entering this prize draw you agree to be bound by these terms & conditions.
- The prize winners will be drawn at random on 03 November 2011. Each winner will receive an XBOX 360 Console + Kinect Sensor.
- Winners will be notified on 04 November 2011 via the email or contact phone number provided.
- Prizes will be delivered to each winner at a New Zealand address (as advised by the winner) at Microsoft's expense.
- Only people living in New Zealand are eligible to win. Employees and independent contractors (and each of their immediate family members) of Microsoft are not eligible to enter.
- Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. If you are unable or unwilling to accept your prize, Microsoft may award it to an alternate winner.
- If you accept a prize you will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize.
- If for any reason an advertised prize is unavailable, Microsoft may substitute the advertised prized for another prize which has approximately the same recommended retail price.
- If there is a dispute as to who submitted the winning entry, the winner will be the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter the prize draw.
- Microsoft New Zealand Limited is the promoter of this prize draw and may modify these terms & conditions without notice. The judge’s decision in relation to the winners or any other aspect of this prize draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Microsoft may disqualify, from participating in this prize draw, any person who tampers with the entry process, or submits an entry not in accordance with these terms and conditions.
